In this context, improving operator safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and increasing operational efficiency were not just desirable improvements\u2014they were strategic priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before implementing Torsa\u2019s solution, <strong>Antamina<\/strong> faced several operational challenges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong data-start=\"215\" data-end=\"249\">Significant equipment downtime<\/strong>, partly due to limited visibility of haul road conditions, which hindered effective planning of predictive maintenance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong data-start=\"374\" data-end=\"401\">High risk of collisions<\/strong>, especially in shovel-truck interaction zones and shared haul routes, endangering both personnel and equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"551\">Frequent operator absenteeism<\/strong> caused by injuries related to prolonged exposure to vibrations in vehicle cabins, particularly spinal injuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These issues imposed a substantial human, economic, and operational cost that <strong>Antamina<\/strong> urgently needed to address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consequences were far from minor. Each injury meant not only a human toll, but also a loss of experience and increased operational strain.
