Each project has received its respective <strong>Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA)<\/strong> approval.<\/p>\n<p>For the acquisition, Statkraft was advised by the law firm <strong>Atkinson Costabal Undurraga &amp; Achurra Abogados (ACU)<\/strong>. Torsa was reportedly advised by <strong>Sandoval, Seoane &amp; C\u00eda<\/strong>, although the latter has not confirmed its involvement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pablo Undurraga<\/strong>, partner at ACU, highlighted:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThis acquisition marks a significant milestone in Statkraft\u2019s strategy in Chile, giving momentum to its investment plans in the country,\u201d particularly because the company intends to continue developing the three projects, which are expected to reach completion by 2022 and collectively generate an average of <strong>300 GWh per year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <em>El Mercurio<\/em>,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cthe goal is to triple the company\u2019s current capacity and reach <strong>800 MW of installed capacity<\/strong> within five years.\u201d Chile, along with Brazil and India, is one of Statkraft\u2019s three priority countries for international expansion.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Statkraft entered the Chilean market in <strong>2014<\/strong> through the acquisition of <strong>SN Power<\/strong> and the formation of a joint venture with <strong>Pacific Hydro<\/strong>. These companies operate the <strong>La Higuera<\/strong> and <strong>La Confluencia<\/strong> run-of-river hydropower plants in the O&#8217;Higgins Region.
