All three are located in the <strong data-start=\"667\" data-end=\"690\">commune of Litueche<\/strong>, in the <strong data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"719\">O&#8217;Higgins Region<\/strong>, south of Chile\u2019s capital, Santiago.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"973\">Statkraft, which has been present in Chile for over a decade as the operator of several hydroelectric plants, plans to invest <strong data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"903\">USD 180 million<\/strong> in what marks its <strong data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"972\">first move into the Chilean wind energy market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1150\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In May 2017, <strong data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1003\">Torsa Chile<\/strong>, the Andean subsidiary of the Spanish multinational Torsa, announced plans to begin installing the three wind farms in the <strong data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1149\">first half of 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Statkraft, the Norwegian state-owned energy company, has announced the acquisition of three wind projects under construction from Spanish firm Torsa Renovables.
