The projects are Cardonal (30 MW), Manantiales (27.6 MW), and Los Cerrillos (51.75 MW). All three are located in the commune of Litueche, in the O’Higgins Region, south of Chile’s capital, Santiago.

Statkraft, which has been present in Chile for over a decade as the operator of several hydroelectric plants, plans to invest USD 180 million in what marks its first move into the Chilean wind energy market.

In May 2017, Torsa Chile, the Andean subsidiary of the Spanish multinational Torsa, announced plans to begin installing the three wind farms in the first half of 2018.
