Borea: Temperature, Humidity, and O2 Sensors at 12 de Octubre Hospital (Madrid)

Statement from 12 de Octubre Hospital regarding the Borea temperature and humidity sensor, as well as the O2 sensor capable of detecting oxygen concentration:

“The activity of additive manufacturing in the hospital environment must be a safe process, just like in the industrial field.

The Advanced Technologies Unit in Design and 3D Printing at our hospital has been implemented from a safety perspective, as well as complying with requirements for air conditioning, electrical safety, and chemical risk exposure.

Since the manufacturing process of different technologies (FDM, SLA) involves the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and ultrafine particles (UPF), it is convenient to have an O2 sensor capable of detecting oxygen concentration in the manufacturing room.

Recently, TORSA GLOBAL has installed a monitoring system with temperature and relative humidity recording, which also includes an O2 sensor. This monitoring will allow us to keep a record of these three parameters, two of which are required for the implementation of the quality management system under ISO 13485. This monitoring system has been exclusively designed for UTADI3D and is called 12O.
